All Trinder staff are encouraged to continue training and upskilling throughout their career with us. Since the 1950’s we have been taking on apprentices, with a commitment to investing in the necessary skills of our industry. In 2005 we employed a full-time Apprentice Trainer/Training Co-Ordinator, and currently support 18 apprentices – a mix of school leavers and adults

Senior Fabricator Welder

A hands-on role producing high-quality fabricated components and assemblies – from workshop builds to on-site construction

We’re growing – and we’re looking for a Senior Fabricator to bring their expertise and precision to our Fabrication Division.

The Role:

You’ll work on a variety of fabrication projects across the primary, export and construction sectors. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in high-end finish and structural integrity and thrives in a team-based environment.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Trade qualified with 10+ years’ of industry experience
  • Experience in onsite installation and structural steelwork (preferable)
  • Proven high-quality fabrication and welding skills
  • Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings
  • Attention to detail – finish is as important as accuracy
  • Strong work ethic, time management and a team mindset

  • Duration: 12-18 Months
  • Scholarship: $25K includes registration fees for 1 year

Project description

New Zealand King Salmon have a well-established track record for farming, processing and exporting premium King Salmon – with export of 6 to 7 thousand tonnes/year reaching 15 countries worldwide. The company is now set to scale up significantly, with an offshore farm planned alongside a new factory and processing facilities. To meet the new levels of production, specialised machinery must be developed which hereto does not exist within New Zealand or the wider international marketplace.
